EPE-PEMC has to be substituted by PEMC everywhere.
The EPE-PEMC Council Award has been presented biennially to honor outstanding achievements in power electronics and motion control.
Selection Criteria
The accomplishments and the contributions of the nominee are assessed by considering a broad range of his/her activities including:
- teaching
- innovative research
- industrial achievements
- publications
- professional seminars
- management of a major project or program
- general communication and advocacy of power electronics and motion control technology to the technical community.
In addition, the support of the EPE-PEMC activities will be highly appreciated.
Procedure of the Selection Process
The EPE-PEMC Awards Committee Chairman chairs an EPE-PEMC Council Award Nominating Committee at least half a year prior to the EPE-PEMC Conference in every EPE-PEMC Conference year. Nominations are requested from each committee member. In addition, nominations are solicited from the members of EPE-PEMC Council and from the members of EPE-EC to ensure that none of all those who truly deserve this award are overlooked. A Nomination Form along with an information sheet, detailing the selection criteria and procedure, are available upon request from the Chairman of the Awards Committee or the Secretariat of the EPE-PEMC Council. Beside submitting the Nomination Form, enclosure of a supporting material is encouraged but not mandatory. Two distinguished personalities will be bestowed with this prestigious Award biennially during the EPE-PEMC Conference.
The members of the Award Committee rank the nominees in priority order during the first ballot. The first four candidates participate in the second ballot. The two recipients are chosen from the four candidates using an arithmetically-averaged process with priority weighting. In the event of a tie, the Awards Committee Chair, in consultation with the Presidents of EPE and the chairman of EPE-PEMC Council selects the recipients.
Award Presentation
The awards shall be presented at the Gala Dinner in the EPE-PEMC Conference. The announcement is made by the Chairman of the EPE-PEMC Awards Committee Chair. The Award is handed over by the President of EPE and the Chairman of the EPE-PEMC Council.
