The main goal of the organization is to promote and co-ordinate the cooperation among the members of the council and the publication of technical, scientific and economic information in the field of Power Electronics and Motion Control. One of the main objectives of cooperation was the integration and unification of Europe in the field of our profession.
The fields of activities are
- Organisation of PEMC Conferences, Symposia, Workshops, Tutorials, and Exhibitions
- Promoting the positions of our members in International Technical Organisations (IEEE, ECPE, ICEM, IEEJ, KIPE etc.)
- Supporting the events listed above by joint applications for funding
- Promoting joint research projects, applications, and joint ventures in education
Aims of PEMC Conferences
PEMC Conferences provide forum for international specialists in Power Electronics and Motion Control to present and discuss papers on state-of-the-art topics. In addition to that the other objective of these conferences is slightly different from most Conferences held in this field. Indeed, one of the main objectives is to narrow the gap between WEST and EAST in Europe and to accelerate the integration process. It serves as WEST-EAST TECHNOLOGY BRIDGE (as shown in the logo). The PEMC Conference series is intended to complement National Conferences on Power Electronics first of all in Middle European Countries having earlier attached to the Soviet block but it serves the needs for the profession all over Europe and the globe by attracting large number - hundreds - of participants from overseas.
In the last decade, the PEMC Conference has become the largest and most important conference on Power Electronics and Motion Control in Central Europe. The conference has been supported by EPE Association, due to the agreement signed in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1998 between EPE Association and the PEMC-Council. Every odd year the EPE and every even year the EPE-PEMC conference was held to avoid the conflict.
